Name: Kisho Tsubasa Ryu
Age: He looks like he's 17, but he's around ninety in human years. This is because of his mixed blood that gives him longevity.
Date of Birth: The summer solstice, June 21 (right?)
Homelands: He was originally born in Japan, but he has moved many times since then.
Weapon Information: He can use a bow and arrow fairly well. Also, Kirra taught him how to throw daggers. She trained him very hard, and his daggers, which are concealed in his shirt, always hit the mark when he throws them. It helps that Mitsu put a couple spells on them to help with strength and accuracy.
Unique Powers: Kisho is an extremely strong psychic. He has mastered the mind, and can, if he really wants to, control people. Only problem is, he doesn't want to, so stay on his good side. If there is something private to discuss, you're not going to get him to talk out loud. He usually speaks with his 'mind-voice,' so if he talks to you like that, don't freak out, and ask him how to communicate with him if you really MUST know. He also can sense thoughts if invading a person's head, but he will NEVER, and he means NEVER, do that without asking permission first.
Personal Special Attacks: He can deterr enemies from attacking him. They'll forget why they were attacked him for a couple of minutes, enough time for Kisho to get out of the range of the attackers. Then they'll remember, but they won't be very happy.
Ultimate Personal Special Attack: He can mind-wipe attackers if he has to. It won't kill them, it will just leave their minds completely blank. They'll forget what they were doing, where they were going, and practically everything except who they are. Kisho isn't cruel enough to take away their identities, though he probably could if he wanted to. Still, not cruel enough!
Races: He isn't as messed up at his sister and brother, (thank goodness!), but he does have mixed blood. He is a combination of 1/4 shape shifter, 1/4 drow, and ½ phoenix. (yes, I had to make that technical!) He has limited powers of all of those races. He can shape shift, he can turn into a phoenix, and he can go around sporting phoenix wings or whatever.
Family at ESA: His half-siblings, Kirra and Mitsu, are there.
Pets: Aydan, a full-fledged fire bird that is in her primary state. She has a month or so to go before she is reborn from ashes. Her glistening feathers look like fire, and are very stunning. She has a beautiful cry that most of the students will get used to, given time. (Kisho very much waits for the time when he can creep one of his students out when she's reborn. *snicker snicker*)
Likes: Kisho likes his siblings, which is a good thing. He also likes fires, music, and reading. He likes to throw daggers, as he has made a sport of it with the unenchanted daggers. He likes to play with peoples minds (sometimes) and will play with his sister's constantly. He likes sunny days and other psychics. He enjoys eating cookies and generally having fun.
Dislikes: He really doesn't like the cold or anything to do with cold. He doesn't like snow, ice, or rain. Water isn't a favorite of his, and neither is fog. While mist is pretty, he doesn't like it unless he's inside and it's outside. He doesn't like cleaning up the ashes that Aydan will leave after she is reborn. He dislikes ice cream and cold food.
Physical Description: Kisho is a wiry sort of fellow, with fiery red hair much like the color of a phoenix. His hair is short, cropped unevenly but not messily. His eyes are a blood red, taken from the drow part of him. His complection is pale, and picks up the glow of a fire very eerily. He usually has on black robes with the ESA symbol on them, but will wear all types of clothing, including some that would be found on a seventeen year old boy, which he looks like. He likes long shorts. Also, sometimes phoenix wings fold gracefully from his back. This only happens when he chooses, but they are very useful. They are functional for flying, so he uses them to get places, as a convenient tool. At formal meetings and the such, he will 'wear' his wings and something that makes them look stunning. He finds that Japanese clothing is very good for that sort of thing.
Background: Kisho was born into a very odd family. His father had already had another wife, and two children. His mother loved his father very much though, and he liked his siblings, even if they were only half-siblings. As he grew up, he came to love them, and didn't even realize that Kirra and Mitsu weren't his full siblings. Only after a long time did he find out.
He was skilled at his psychic abilities from the beginning. His mother, who was also a psychic, managed to teach him a few words while he was still in the womb. It took him a little while to start forming them with his mouth, but he understood what people around him were saying. Even with that set-back, he was a very early talker. Walking came a little harder for him, but he managed to walk soon enough.
All through his life, his mother taught him to master his psychic abilities, and he was learning them rapidly. Then at four, his father started to teach him how to control his shape shifting abilities, as he had done with Kirra and Mitsu. Kisho learned at a moderate rate. He enjoyed to be able to control his powers. His father often said that he was proud of Kisho, and that only made Kisho want to master his powers.
At seven, he was very happy to live in Japan, but his father wanted to see the world, so the whole family packed up and moved to some uncharted area of the world. Mitsu and Kirra discovered their abilities, and Kisho continued to train with his mother. She was the best teacher he could ever have had.
They moved again, to a fairly commercial part of the world, and while the twins got tutors, Kisho got to spend more time with his parents, learning shape shifting and the psychic arts. His parents, though he didn't realize it at the time, seemed to be so involved with making sure that he had his powers down.
Years went by, when Kirra came up to him and asked him to go with Mitsu and her to train their gifts. He was reluctant to go, and his parents didn't support the idea when she asked him. The next day though, they had suddenly changed their minds, and urged him as much as possible to go with her, so he went. He trained on his own, and practiced on his siblings, with their permission. Soon, he gained actual experience dealing with people's brains and thoughts. And they traded secrets of shape shifting that their father had taught them individually. Their father must have planned this, and it was working. They were the closest siblings on the planet, or at least the believed so.
Time passed, with many battles on the siblings’ part. The only bad thing about traveling with Kirra was that she liked to pick battles... a lot. She had to get her brothers out of the sticky situations, or so she thought, though she forgot that they could get out on their own.
Soon, magical people started recognizing them for some reason. They had, for some reason, gotten famous for being strong with their powers. It was slightly humiliating to stand the stares and awe, so they tried to find shelter from it all. What they found was Ethersword Academy. Soon, they were teaching as Master Teachers, and finding that they loved the job. Teaching was one of the things that all three siblings had a common interest in. And after their fame died out, they still stayed at ESA, finding it a perfect place to be.
Now, every two or so years, they go to visit their father where he lives, somewhere back in Japan. He has had other children, supposedly, though the three siblings haven’t met any. They plan to continue teaching at ESA for another perhaps hundred years or so.
